Distant Projects We do work on projects well outside our area. In order to establish a price for design services, we would need to start with a phone interview. If we decide to proceed, we would ask for more base data. This data normally includes a professional topographic survey with features (such as buildings and existing trees), a floor plan, elevations of the building(s), digital photos of the site, and a copy of any CC&R's and any other administrative requirements or restrictions affecting the design. If you're modifying an existing structure, we'd need both existing (as-built) plans and new construction plans. Most if not all of this information can be transmitted via e-mail. If the site is a long way from Sacramento, California, fees would also include travel to and from the site as required, according to the scope of services agreed upon. So far, we've worked on projects in France, Ethiopia, and Florida. This range of projects gives us experience working with plants in temperate, Mediterranean and tropical climates. | ||

Package A: illustrated concepts with scaled plans
Package A is for people who want a number of ideas for your landscape, presented in a relatively easy to understand format, but don't want technical construction drawings.
This package starts with a measured base plan for the site, unlike a not to scale sketch concept. A number of concepts are presented, illustrated with perspectives and elevations of proposed features.
These drawings are not intended for construction, so they lack dimensioned details, plant lists, lighting, etc. that would be needed for consistent bids.
$1,500 and up
Package B: One plan concept + working drawings
Package B is for people who want a single concept with technical construction drawings.
This package starts with a measured base plan for the site, develops one concept that is finalized in a single presentation/brainstorming meeting. We then develop the approved concept into working drawings.
These drawings are intended for construction. They include a scaled layout plan, notes on materials and finishes, dimensioned details, a planting plan with plant lists, lighting, etc. needed for consistent bids.
$2,000 and up
Package C: Multiple illustrated concepts concept + working drawings
Package C is for people who want to explore multiple concepts, then develop one final concept from the ideas presented.
This package starts with a measured base plan for the site, develops several illustrated concepts, then finalizes one concept over a series of two meetings.
The final construction drawings are intended for construction. They include a scaled layout plan, notes on materials and finishes, dimensioned details, a planting plan with plant lists, lighting, etc. needed for consistent bids.
$3,200 and up
Estate Design Services. Customized for large / elaborate projects
These services start with illustrated concepts, and progress into construction drawings, participation into the fabrication of custom accents and extensive involvement throughout the design process.
These services are billed on a combination of set fees and hourly rates, and due to the extensive scope of services, are much more expensive than the design packages.
