Using the base plans created during the site measurement phase, we work out several options & illustrate them.

There are no construction drawings with this package. It's just illustrated concepts, meant for either people who know how to build anything or those just wishing to visualize the options for their property in greater detail than is possible with a sketch consult.

The plans shown are typical examples of illustrated concepts.

1. First Step: Site Measurements for design

Once we've received an approved proposal, we normally measure the areas of your landscape to be redesigned, along with the exterior of your house. These measurements often include heights so we can determine drainage and steps.

This is the base plan used for this design, with elevation numbers for the front yard. Base plans are done in CAD (on a computer) for optimum accuracy. We use a transit to measure elevations & positions of objects - not just a tape measure.

Larger & more complicated sites require professional surveying.

These plans illustrate options for the landscape, and work well as master plans. They are in color and include sketches so you can visualize what the various options will look like from key areas. No revisions are included.

They do not include scaled details, planting plans or layout plans - or any detailed information on how to build the landscape's features. Major plants are called out by type and sometimes by species; other plants are simply listed. Finish materials are noted, without additional information on construction.

If you want to get bids from contractors, Set B or C that includes construction drawings (layout, planting, etc) will be more suitable. Some contractors can build from this type of concept, but the bids will be more open to interpretation.
